Dear Glee

So....having watched all of Glee season 2; primarily five minutes before writing this, this entry is pretty clouded; by the huge disappointment and pain that came with watching the season in one sitting. Seriously, if anyone wants a torture machine, it’s in the form of the Falchuk,-Brennan-Murphy (FBM) crap that was season 2.
I took a break from watching Glee after hearing about their born this way special being advertised; thinking my reaction (I wanted to vomit; I physically heaved) was a bit dramatic and I needed to wash out my mind with novels. So I did and then decided to watch the season once it was over; omnibus style and stayed away from other blogs so as not to have my opinion tainted.
After a few episodes, I had to go online. Someone out there had to find the show as ridiculous as I did. Or I was living in a different world where Transformers is the greatest movie franchise ever. Thankfully, I was in the right world. Glee S2 left a bad taste in my mouth.
From making Justin Beiber a worse experience in episode 13 (truthfully, the youngun needs to sue Glee for making his reputation worse) to making their characters worse off in their season ending (Finn came off dumber and Jesse St. James was just creepy returning to high school; for a girl. He’s been to college; where some girls dig guys who can sing) FBM took a really great concept and fudged it up. Collosally!
And now there’s a season 3; Dear God save us and give these guys some logical sensibilities that will effectively restore Glee to its initial glory. Or better still make Fox cancel season 3 and give the money to starving Americans. Yes; there are Americans starving and with at least a million dollars per episode, they could reclaim all honour and respect by feeding the starving Americans and if there’s change, they could pay tuition for a few film majors whose ideas suck way less than Glee S2. If none of that is appealing and it probably isn’t, how about renewing flash forward. That show was epic. I have no idea why V was given the green light over it but hey, sometimes Fox has brilliant ideas and flash forward cannot be messed up. The production team seemed to have a good thing on their hands and treated it well. So...Fox, please feel free to pick up where abc fucked up and bring flash forward back.
Then again Fox is known to mess up great things. I just really want a flash forward S2. S1 was fantastic, I’m pissed on its behalf that it didn’t win big network awards last year ie Emmy.
Here’s to the end of an awful run Glee; and a prayer that season 3, if it goes ahead, will be as good as season 1. Serious topics like bullying and suicide will be addressed with sobriety and a bit of humour (Brits know how to do it so why not just watch a lot of Brit comedies FBM?) while the comedy will be returned to its initial level.
Sincerely,
Hinged.
